OLL Awards to Laurea and Metropolia

University of Jyväskylä joins the Finnish Student Sports Federation as an ordinary member
Published:As of 1 November 2025, the University of Jyväskylä will become an ordinary member of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL). It will be the second higher education institution to join OLL under the new membership model.

Apply for the European Universities Championships 2026
Published:The European Universities Championships are held every two years in connection with the multi-sport event European Universities Games and every two years as separate European Championships. 2026 will be the year of the European Eusa Games Salerno, Combat sport Tirana and rowing Zagreb. The Games also offer a great opportunity to test the level of European elite sports, as many national team-level athletes will be taking part in them. The athletes will represent their own higher education institution in the Games.

First Finnish university becomes an associate member of EUSA
Published:Laurea University of Applied Sciences has become the first Finnish higher education institution to be accepted as an associate member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) at the general assembly held in Zagreb, Croatia, on October 10–11. A Nordic representative was also elected to EUSA’s Executive Committee.

"The Time for a break?" campaign encourages university students and teachers to reduce sitting
Published:This year, the Finnish Student Sports Federation OLL’s annual #BeActive weeks 22.9–3.10 aim to get people to pay attention to taking breaks from sitting while studying. Moving your body while studying improves the ability to study, but students still sit 10.5 hours per day.

Minister for Sports Mika Poutala to OLL: “Physical activity must be made more affordable for students”
Published:On 11 September, Minister for Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Mika Poutala attended MetroSport, a student sports and wellbeing event in Helsinki. He was interviewed under the basketball hoop at Kisahalli by Akseli Haanpää, President of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL).
