University of Jyväskylä joins the Finnish Student Sports Federation as an ordinary member
Published:As of 1 November 2025, the University of Jyväskylä will become an ordinary member of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL). It will be the second higher education institution to join OLL under the new membership model.

Apply for the European Universities Championships 2026
Published:The European Universities Championships are held every two years in connection with the multi-sport event European Universities Games and every two years as separate European Championships. 2026 will be the year of the European Eusa Games Salerno, Combat sport Tirana and rowing Zagreb. The Games also offer a great opportunity to test the level of European elite sports, as many national team-level athletes will be taking part in them. The athletes will represent their own higher education institution in the Games.

First Finnish university becomes an associate member of EUSA
Published:Laurea University of Applied Sciences has become the first Finnish higher education institution to be accepted as an associate member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) at the general assembly held in Zagreb, Croatia, on October 10–11. A Nordic representative was also elected to EUSA’s Executive Committee.

"The Time for a break?" campaign encourages university students and teachers to reduce sitting
Published:This year, the Finnish Student Sports Federation OLL’s annual #BeActive weeks 22.9–3.10 aim to get people to pay attention to taking breaks from sitting while studying. Moving your body while studying improves the ability to study, but students still sit 10.5 hours per day.

Published:On 11 September, Minister for Youth, Sport and Physical Activity Mika Poutala attended MetroSport, a student sports and wellbeing event in Helsinki. He was interviewed under the basketball hoop at Kisahalli by Akseli Haanpää, President of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL).

OLL's University Membership brings changes to international competition activities and cooperative membership

Heading to the European Universities Championships with hefty goals
Published:This summer, the European Universities Championships (EUC) will take place across the continent. A total of 75 athletes from Finnish universities will compete in seven different sports. OLL Made Jukola a Tradition
Published:This weekend, the year’s most anticipated orienteering event, Jukola relay 2025, took place in the night-time forests of Mikkeli. The Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) participated in the relay for the second consecutive year, finishing in 1287th place — an improvement of 101 positions from the previous year.

Late registration for the SELL Student Games is ongoing

Municipal solutions: Local exercise as part of a functional city
Published:Cities and municipalities have a key role to play in determining the opportunities people have to do exercise in their everyday life. Exercise does not have to be limited to separate workout sessions or gym visits: it is easy to adopt an active lifestyle if the urban environment supports walking, cycling and local exercise. These elections are indeed an important celebration of democracy for Finns, who get to choose the politicians who make decisions on almost all the basic services of everyday life.
