Laurea University of Applied Sciences has become the first Finnish higher education institution to be accepted as an associate member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) at the general assembly held in Zagreb, Croatia, on October 10–11. A Nordic representative was also elected to EUSA’s Executive Committee.

Laurea University of Applied Sciences was accepted as the first associate member from Finland. The free membership grants higher education institutions access to the EUSA Universities Club as well as reduced participation fees for European Universities Championships and other events. Finnish higher education institutions’ membership requires the support of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL).

During the meeting, EUSA elected a new Executive Committee. Haris Pavletić, Chair of the Croatian University Sports Federation, was elected as President. The Norwegian representative Yngvild Larsen Shcei, supported by OLL, was also elected to the Committee. The composition of the Committee can be viewed here.
