Call for development funding for club activities to open – major changes to the funding principles
The 2026 development funding for club activities will exceptionally focus on summer activities and the employment of young people during the summer. The application period is short and begins in early March. Finnish Student Sports Federation will, as usual, provide support in preparing applications.
The development funding for club activities is intended to increase children’s and young people’s participation in sports and physical activity, as well as club activities, during the summer months.
The main objective of the grant is to increase meaningful and safe summer activities for children and young people. The funding also aims to strengthen young people’s role in club activities and prevent drop-out from physical activity.
The grant may be applied for by local, registered associations that organise physical activity and/or sport; sports clubs and physical activity associations. The funding is awarded as discretionary project-based government funding.
Approximately €2 million has been allocated for the grants. Funding decisions will be made in early May 2026. The Ministry will send the decision to applicants via the online service.
The application period opens on 2 March 2026 and closes on 30 March 2026 at 16:15.
For further information and support in preparing your application, please contact the federation’s Events and Education Specialist, Markku Rantahalvari (markku.rantahalvari@oll.fi, +358 44 780 0217). This will help you submit the strongest possible application.
