Candidate for OLL’s board: Jenny Tynkkynen, Helga
The Board of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) for 2025 will be elected at the General Assembly held in Vantaa on 20 and 21 November. We will introduce all candidates who register before the General Assembly. The next candidate to be introduced is Jenny Tynkkynen.
Jenny Tynkkynen studies Sports Instruction at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences on the Vierumäki campus and serves as the chair of Tahkon Talli ry. She works as a tester and instructor at Päijät-Hämeen Liikunta ja Urheilu ry (PHLU).
Which position are you running for at OLL, and why?
I am running for vice president of OLL. I want to promote student competitions, find solutions to enhance wellbeing, and improve communication about these issues to students. I also hope that OLL will open doors for future career opportunities – my dream is to one day work for the Finnish Olympic Committee.
Can you tell us up to three of your key goals for OLL’s board?
-

Develop concrete measures to address physical inactivity (through collaboration between different stakeholders)
 -

Improve communication about and organization of student competitions
 -

Support students’ wellbeing through mentoring activities and advocacy (by advocacy I mean responding to decisions)

How have you promoted university sports so far, and what other skills and experience would you bring to OLL?
Together with my board, I have organized various tournaments on our campus almost every week, and we have listened to students’ wishes regarding different sports in which they would like to compete against each other. I have also communicated about competitions that students can join.
I bring to OLL several years of experience in the sports field. I have a broad sports background and have trained as a personal trainer. I have also studied nutrition and sports sciences at the Open University, and I will graduate as a sports instructor next autumn. I am specializing in development work in sports and physical activity, and as vice chair, I would be able to put my new knowledge into practice!
